“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.” — John 14:27
The holiday season has a way of pulling on our time, our energy, and our attention. Thanksgiving meals, Christmas shopping, planning, cooking, gatherings, events — it all adds up so quickly.
And yes, it can feel overwhelming.
But it doesn’t have to overtake you.
There is a peace God has already given you — a peace that is yours to reach for, even in the busiest moments.
Find your moments, even if they’re small:
• five minutes in the car
• ten quiet minutes in the shower
• three minutes hiding in the bathroom (we’ve all been there!)
Wherever you can breathe, pause, and let God’s peace settle you — take it. It counts.
Write Your Way to Peace
Sometimes the quickest way to calm your heart is simply to write.
Grab your journal — even for just a few lines — and let your thoughts settle onto the page.
Writing slows you down.
It helps your mind breathe.
It gives your heart space to hear God again.
Try reflecting on questions like:
• “What is weighing on me right now?”
• “Where did I feel God’s peace today?”
• “What am I grateful for in this moment?”
You don’t need perfect words.
Just honest ones.
As you write, you will start to see the small graces God has woven through your day — the moments you might have missed while rushing.
Before bed, jot down the good things from your day:
• the ways God sustained you
• the needs He met
• the unexpected strength that kept you going
Yes — that was God.
• the calm you felt even when plans fell apart
That was God too.
Take a deep breath.
God gave you that breath — thank Him for it.
You don’t have to push through the holidays and wait for everything to calm down to find peace again.
You can have His peace right now, in this very moment.
Declare it.
Receive it.
Write about it.
Walk in it.
Because His peace is already yours. 🌿✨
