A woman in a quiet, everyday moment—standing by a sunlit window in soft neutral tones—pauses peacefully in a calm home setting. The atmosphere feels simple and unhurried, reflecting stillness and presence. Overlaid text reads: “One sentence is enough.”

Let’s get real for a moment.

Talking to God is not a graded school paper.

We are not being graded on the words we use…

our sentence structure, punctuation,

or even how we pronounce something.

It doesn’t have to be perfect.

The honest truth is—

God just wants you to seek Him.

Come to Him just as you are.

Your hair doesn’t have to be done.

Your makeup doesn’t have to be done.

Your teeth don’t even have to be brushed.

He just wants a relationship with you.

He wants your attention—

however you’re able to give it.

You don’t need a church hat, heels,

a nice purse, or gloves.

God is not looking for perfect.

He’s looking for you.

And if you wait for the “perfect time”…

I’m going to tell you now—

it’s going to be hard to ever show up.

So let’s take the pressure off.

Stop trying to show up at your best…

and just show up, period.

Because what God is really looking for is consistency.

Are you consistently seeking Him?

Not just when things go wrong.

Not just when you’re overwhelmed.

But in the small, everyday moments—

While washing dishes.

Dropping the kids off.

Picking them up.

Cooking dinner.

We were not created to be perfect.

So we should stop striving for it.

Start with something simple—

Seeking Him for five minutes before you walk into the house.

Talking to Him first thing when you wake up.

These small moments matter.

Sometimes it’s just a pause…

just to say,

“Thank You, Lord.”

Letting go of perfection will ignite something in you.

A hunger for God.

Because when you realize you can show up any way you want to…

it becomes easier to come to Him.

When you release the need for perfection,

you begin to see clearly—

He’s not asking you to have it all together.

He just wants you.

So I encourage you today:

Start with consistency, not perfection.

And as your hunger grows through that consistency…

it will begin to feel natural.

It will begin to feel right.

But there will always be room to grow.

Because perfection was never the goal.

It’s an unrealistic expectation

that God never placed on us.

So let it go.

And go talk to God.

Reflection Prompt

What is one small moment in your day where you can pause and talk to God?

Start there.

Let that be enough.
