You Are Heard—Even When You Have No Words

A young woman with soft curly hair sits quietly by a sunlit window, wrapped in warm neutral tones, looking thoughtful and at peace. Gentle light fills the room, creating a calm, reflective atmosphere. Overlaid text reads: “You are heard—even when you have no words.”

You are heard—even when you don’t know what to say.

The truth is…sometimes you really don’t have anything to say.

Not out of fear.

Not out of disappointment.

Not even out of confusion.

You just… have nothing.

And guess what?

In that silence… you are still heard.

Silence doesn’t mean something is wrong.

It doesn’t mean you’re broken.

It doesn’t even always mean something needs to be fixed.

Sometimes, silence is where we find peace.

Where we find clarity.

Where we find God.

Even when you don’t have the words,

God still knows what’s on your heart.

And in those moments when you feel speechless—

when your thoughts won’t form

and your prayers feel empty—

He hears what’s really going on.

Because silence does say something.

But it doesn’t always say something is wrong.

There’s something powerful about silence.

It can feel loud… almost overwhelming.

But in that stillness, you begin to notice things differently.

You feel deeper.

You see clearer.

You sense what words could never fully explain.

Have you ever had someone say exactly what you were feeling—

when you didn’t even have the words for it?

That’s how God meets you too.

He understands what you can’t explain.

And sometimes, He will even send people

to speak the words you couldn’t find.

So don’t be discouraged by your silence.

Just because you have nothing to say

doesn’t mean your feelings don’t matter to God.

It doesn’t mean He’s distant.

It doesn’t mean He’s not listening.

Even without words…

God is still with you.

He still hears you.

And He still sees you.

Reflection Prompt

What have you been feeling lately that you haven’t had the words for?

Sit with it.

Write it anyway—even if it’s just one word, or none at all.
